PNG files are cleaner than jpeg & are perfect for editing.
Crop the image you want to use in Microsoft Paint. Paint will let you create a transparent background for objects while the picture is open. (I haven't been able to save transparency.)
Under HOME tab click the select box with down arrow, be sure that "Transparent Selection" is checked. This will make any "color 2" transparent when selecting & moving objects in paint.
